The amount is set by God and how He has blessed. By faith, we look beyond our current circumstances and trush Him. There’s not a set formula in the New Testement, although a tithe (10 percent) is a good starting point. There are debates over things like’ first fruits,’ and ‘gross versus net,’ but it’s the heart that God looks at.
Is our heart to be “generous” or “to hold’ on” not knowing what tomorrow might bring? For some it comes down to a point of how “much is enough?” We know we can not anything into the next life, although some may have tried. And we know we can’t out give God.
If you live in the western world, you are probably close to being a “one percenter” already. After more than 55+ years of walking with Christ, I still wrestle with the tension of “how much is enough.” My guess is you likely do as well.
