Prison Outreach Has a Startling Outcome!

With Easter just days away, I have been reflecting on elements of its overall meaning. One phrase that has stood out is “unchanging grace.” Our God is unchanging in His nature and His grace is ever flowing and abundant to all who choose to receive it.

“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.” Psalm 103: 12-14 (NLT)

A story that helps to illustrate the joy and life-change when someone experiences “unchanging grace,” is that of a woman in Ghana. Francis B., our team leader, shared the following report:

“Upon our visit to the Nsawam Female Prison, we encountered an inmate who had the issue of kleptomania and other mental disorders. She was very hostile in the facility.  During the prayer session after the film show [” Magdalena,” our film for women], the power of God touched her.  She felt some kind of joy and took to dancing during the Praise Hour. All the other inmates joined her to dance because it was the first time they saw her in that joyful mood. We continue to pray that she will be restored fully and delivered from those disorders.”

Join Francis, his wife, Clara, and me in praying for the woman’s full healing, restoration and her walk with Christ. Pray she would grow in her understanding of God’s truth and grace.
