The riots in our cities this past two weeks are a saddening site, as was the senseless killing of George Floyd. The safety of many are at risk. We know only the hand of God can intervene and stop the evil and chaos. Pray is needed more than ever. And we know it does make a difference!
When our prayers are focused and the Spirit of God moves in hearts; lives of people are transformed. And it can happen in lives of many Americans, as we humble ourselves, pray and seek God’s face (1 Chronicles 7:14). Our nation needs repentance and revival, and our world needs Jesus!
PRAISE:
Praise God for the global participation in our 24-hour “live” YouTube webcast for Night of Power, the 27th day of Ramadan (May 19). Nearly 10,000 people joined in praying from at least 79 countries. Following the United States, Malaysia and Uganda had the most attendees praying. These believers were asking God to reveal Himself to men, women and children in more than 40 countries who follow this dominant religion. Early reports tell of “rays of light” piercing the spiritual darkness, of people finding hope and coming to faith in Jesus. Thank you for praying.
PRAY:
- Pray for the work of posting dozens of additional languages of “JESUS” on YouTube in South Asian dialects (India).
- As we shift to new ways of doing ministry, especially online using the Jesus Film® app, WhatsApp, We Chat, etc., pray that these efforts to reach people in more restricted nations would not just be maintained, but also accelerated.
- Pray for the development of a recording toolkit needed for partners to help produce language versions for smaller people groups. Software is being developed in partnership with the ministry of Mars Hill Productions that will make it possible to use smart phones for recording “JESUS.” Potentially this will enable hundreds of languages to be produced, and in turn be used to reach those people groups. Pray the software development can be completed by early 2021 and deployment can soon follow.
- Wisdom to know how to best shoot the Southeast Asia video report in light of ongoing travel restrictions due to Covid-19. Pray for a breakthrough.
